Burnished copper
Intense and rich aroma. Initially, there are hints of dates, cherries and marzipan with brandy butter and rich Christmas pudding. Later, mead and sandalwood emerge with deep chocolate notes, almonds and honeycomb. Hints of coconut, mixed spice and linseed oil simmer beneath the surface.
With water, there is a burst of fruit revealing peach skins, orange marmalade and grapefruit. Honey and lemon toddies emerge with a hint of cloves and menthol-eucalyptus.
Full-bodied and rich, this whisky is both spicy and warming.
The taste is initially sweet with mead, dark chocolate and cloves, progressing to cherries and dried apricots. Madeira cake and iced coconut evolve on the palate, followed by honey, lemon and finally almonds.
The finish is long, leaving honey and lemon toddy, mint humbugs, cinnamon and dark chocolate.
